I want to buy a new camera. Preferably an SLR, as I would like some more ‘professional’ looking pictures. I’m sure it will take me time to learn how to use it, but it’s worth it to me because of all the pictures I take of the kids. I don’t need some extreme camera, but a good starter SLR. Anyone have any suggestions for me?

I have the Nikon D40 and really like it. It’s easy to use, although I have yet to read the instructions and utlize it fully. The only thing I do not like is the size, which you get with any SLR. I find myself still using the point n shoot more, since it’s so much easier to throw in my pocket.
